City of Tshwane BRT Line 2A and 2B CBD to Menlyn via Hatfield

The City of Tshwane is implementing a Bus Rapid Transit system to link key nodes in the city that will reduce the time and cost that people spend on transport. ILISO Consulting Environmental was appointed as the Environmental Specialist advisor, and to facilitate the public participation for Line 2 that runs from the Central Business District to Menlyn via Hatfield. The project included undertaking an ecological specialist study and environmental screening to identify any potential significant issues as well as any environmental and heritage authorisations required. An extensive public participation process consisting of more than eight public meetings and 30 focus group meetings was also facilitated for the City.

Mooi-Mgeni Transfer Scheme Phase 2 (MMTS-2)

ILISO Consulting Environmental provided environmental specialist services to the TCTA in the implementation of the MMTS-2, which included the construction of the Spring Grove Dam, three flow gauging weirs, a pump station, a water transfer system (pipeline) and housing development to accommodate relocated families, with associated access roads, services and road relocations. The Environmental services included a full-time on-site environmental monitor, applications for environmental authorisations and water use licenses, compiling environmental management programmes and drafting environmental specifications for tender documentation.

Groot Letaba River Water Resources Development Project

ILISO Consulting Environmental conducted the Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management plans for a proposed new large dam on the Groot Letaba River in the Limpopo Province, and associated bulk water supply infrastructure, including pipelines and reservoirs.

This project included environmental authorisation for the proposed variant alignments, compilation of the Environmental Management Plans, acquisition of the Water Use License and stakeholder consultation for various aspects
