Sam Gonga, graduated from the University of Zambia in 1996 with a B.Eng degree in Civil Engineering. A progressive and driven individual, Sam furthered his studies by obtaining an M.Eng in Sanitary (Water Supply) Engineering from IHE Delft in the Netherlands in 2001 and has acquired a broad spectrum of experience in the highly specialised water utilities operations, as well as program and project management within this sector.
His first appointment was at the Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company, shortly after graduation, and continued to work in the water utilities sector from 2003, specifically focussing his attention in the water services infrastructure financing for the low-income urban sector. As head of the first-ever basket fund in the water sector in Zambia, he contributed to its development as an SPV for accelerating services to the low-income urban areas.
